Dr. Betiglu Eshete Jimma is the founder of BEJ Consulting, with over a decade of experience in concrete technology, high-performance materials, and sustainable manufacturing. He combines deep expertise in R&D, process engineering, industrial decarbonization, and data-driven solutions to help companies innovate and scale efficiently.

Betiglu’s academic background is rooted in concrete technology: his M.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras focused on self-compacting concrete, while his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Clemson University specialized in pervious concrete, emphasizing sustainable and high-performance construction materials.

At Biomason, he led the development and scale-up of next-generation bio-cement technologies aimed at decarbonizing the concrete industry, including patented biocementation processes and industrial-scale implementation. Previously, at Saint-Gobain SEFPRO, he managed multinational R&D portfolios, industrialized over a dozen ceramic products, and developed patented technologies for quality assurance and process optimization, achieving significant operational cost savings and recognition for environmental impact.

Betiglu also holds a B.Ed. from Adama Science and Technology University and certifications in applied machine learning and Lean Manufacturing (WCM Green Belt). A published researcher and frequent international presenter, he bridges scientific rigor with practical impact to deliver sustainable, scalable solutions in concrete technology, process engineering, AI, and materials innovation.
